Vance McCartney
Voice: Chester Bennington (lead singer of Linkin Park)
I've never really been happy with the way I've designed my OC Vance McCartney's tattoos in the past so this started out as a very simple sketch that I was testing various tribal designs that suit him and then it became a full out drawing and then of course the color muse, which rarely strikes, demanded the use of my Copic Sketch Markers (did some minor touching up and cleaning in photoshop)..so here ya have it. My latest and greatest version of Frankie Zoid's best friend (later boyfriend), Vance McCartney.
...yep, he's flippin' a flaming bird...
This is how he's usually dressed, a mixture of grunge and punk, depending on his moods.
If you haven't noticed, his power has everything to do with fire but it's much more intense than your average pyro. White/blue fire burns the hottest and can cause serious damage and at times is very difficult to control.
The best comparison in terms of Vance's power/strength closely resembles that of Hellboy's, Liz Sherman. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liz_Sher… I'd also suggest checking out Liz in the live action Hellboy films to also get a more realistic idea of what Vance is capable of.
Vance's icy blue eyes and bright blue hair are actually part of his mutation, which manifested at the same time as his power first began to express itself, which certainly made the transition very interesting to cope with considering he was born looking quite average with brown hair and hazel eyes.
I can imagine a lot of people would assume that he dyes his hair this color but being the very blunt and snarky sort of fellow that he is, decided to end everyone's doubts in the men's locker room at school and dropped his pants to prove just how natural his coloring is. Kind of extreme but it shut everyone up. Needless to say, between his unpredictable behavior and the lethal nature of his powers, people generally leave him alone, which can be both a blessing and curse. It just means that he feels very isolation much of the time, but at least he has good friends like Frankie Zoid, Frankie's cousin Morgan Douglas, Damien Mumphries, and the twins Cameron & Devin Lipsky to hang out with.
