Integration - The comfort of hope

Next: Integration - a choice in tradition by vegechan

Days have turned to weeks and time drags on...  The strong spirited Professor has diligently monitored the comatose Freakazoid, oftentimes sacrificing his own needs to ensure that his surrogate grandson is taken care of. However, his age is catching up with him and the Professor is tired, his face hasn't seen a razor in ages, and he is stricken with grief and worry as he oversees Freakazoid's recovery in the coming chapters of "Integration".... What more can he or anyone do? Science and medical care can only do so much for a person who is for some reason barely thriving. Sometimes, when there are no other alternatives, desperation can drive a person to do just about anything, even if that means resorting to more traditional methods such as donning one's yarmulke and praying quietly whilst cradling a frail bandaged hand. So long that there is life and a will, there is comfort in hope.

Much more can be said, but I prefer that you as the viewer try and interpret what the Professor is feeling.

(I rather like a scruffy looking professor even if he does look a bit shagged out).

personal note: I was in a dark state of mind when I drew this but I don't regret it because the impact such intense feelings have on my artwork oftentimes astounds me. Having the opportunity to work out such powerful emotions that tears alone cannot wash away provides a kind of therapy that words fail to adequately describe... I can say one thing though. This piece was made with a lot of love.
