Part 2 of "It ain't so bad being different"
Ah, the continuation of the conundrum of Duncan Douglas and struggle to an eternal future as Anubis, God of death and embalming. I drew this for purely selfish reasons- I wanted an excuse to draw him all drippy and sweaty after a particularly grueling workout. I really enjoy drawing this guy and he's certainly easy on the eyes. Anyway, he's all worn out here because he's in the process of training with Freakazoid and several of his brother's friends who are all helping Duncan hone his new-found strength and super powers (both born from his own mutation and also wielding the powers belonging to Anubis). I messed around with shading and decided that later on Duncan grows out his bangs a bit and lets them hang in his face. Sometimes he can look a bit emo because he get insecure bout how freaky his face looks.. When half transformed like this as seen in my recent post:
, His irises are solid white and the markings on his face stand out in stark gold as well as having clawwed fingers and toes and pointy ears
Frankly, I think he's pretty damn sexy but going from looking completely normal to this is all a very big adjustment for Duncan to deal with, particularly when he's the kind of guy in a position where appearance matters. So, in time he does come to accept himself and this is an image that portrays him in that transition faze where he's finally not wearing the hats or sunglasses or anything else he might use to disguise his strange appearance.
