UPDATE - PLEASE READ!!!! - 8/1/12 - While I was working on editing this first page to finesse and redraw some of the details... I've uploaded the page to show where I was still working on Mira's uniform in panel 2 (found out she wasn't wearing jeans, but full on nursing scrubs).
I am deeply saddened to discover that the fan-fiction "Cruise Control" was suddenly deleted from existence without warning due to the author's statement that she "deleted it for personal / 'religious' reasons." I had been working with the author, Dr. Andromeda Prime (who has now changed her pen name and now known as "The Dark Knightress"), in illustrating several scenes in full comic-book format, to discover that this story is now nonexistent and I was stupid enough not to make copies for myself to enjoy. I am left feeling bereft and deeply disappointed. Not only has something beautifully written been lost, I am stuck with drawings that are only half complete with only my memories to draw upon. For the author's sake, I shall not continue but I was really looking forward to finishing this project.
I'm going to go cry a little now.
Been busting my ass all day to bring you this FRESH off the drawing board!!! YAY! I KNOW HOW TO DRAW OPTIMUS PRIME LIKE A PRO - NOT! WOOT WOOOOOOT! haha... at least I tried... I got lazy with the scaffolding but I'm not in this for making utter comic-perfection. I truly enjoyed this. Seriously. Despite the aches and pains of sitting still and staring at a screen all day, I had SO MUCH FUN!
However, I AM trying to represent the characters as true to themselves as possible and that means straining to draw Optimus as closely to his movie-verse version as possible. Trust me, it ain't easy!
As for the lack of background, those who've known me long enough understand that I'm enjoying just drawing the people themselves and whatever things are important to include in order to make the story better. If you're looking for something as awesome as Marvel comics, then you've come to wrong place.
Agent Mearing, (as seen in TF 3 - Dark of the Moon) is a BITCH as usual and everyone, particularly Optimus, loathes her with a passion.
Decided to illustrate some of my favorite scenes from the amazing fan-fiction "Cruise Control" written by the lovely Dr. Andromeda Prime: [link]
Figured it'd be best to start drawing one of my favorite scenes. It gets intense and there are many many more pages that I intend to draw, hence the PG 1.
This comic starts toward the middle of Chapter 33: [link] (it says chapter 34 in the link but ffnet doesn't like to count prologues as a chapter "zero", so you get my drift).
Anyway, you must read it. I COMMAND IT!

A knot formed in Mira's stomach.
Oh Lord, give me wisdom. Don't let me say anything foolish.
Optimus stopped in front the woman, and placed a hand on the railing to her left. Ratchet put his hand over the railing and Mira climbed off, straightened her uniform and pushed her glasses farther up on her nose. Mearing looked at her and then up at Optimus, facial expression sour and brow wrinkled. Mira could tell she was trying not to explode. She caught him looking at her and then diverted her attention immediatel, heat dashing up her neck and stomach churning with butterflies. Her palms began to sweat slightly.
"Something the matter, Agent Mearing?"
As his voice shook the platform beneath them, something in the nurse's stomach pooled richly inside of her. Her knees shook for a brief instant and she tried hard to suppress the squeak wanting to escape her. What on earth had just happened? Her body had never reacted to his voice like that before, and for some reason it made her terrified. She stepped back half a step and gripped the railing. He looked at her from the corner of his optic—almost seductively—and then focused his attention back on Mearing. A pit formed in Mira's gut and her lips burned.
"Yeah, something is the matter," is pointed accusingly at Mira, who blinked and wrinkled her brow. She wasn't usually this defeated—usually Mira stuck up for herself. She didn't let people walk all over her; that wasn't her style. But with him right there, willing to defend her, willing to have her, was almost weakening. "Where'd you find the Theresa doll? I thought we agreed no outside contacts on base."
Optimus straightned and gave the Agent a fierce, authoritive stare. "Mira is one of us. She is medical personnel for your kind."
Stupid FF.n deleting the best written stories just because people are going on a censor rampage! I was reading this story and was to return to it this morning to discover that it was deleted. then I saw your side of things here. Does the author have another copy, or is it truely, truely gone?
I hid my previous statements because I'm still upset about this turn of events and tend to mouth off without thinking. ...The author, previously known at Dr. Andromeda Prime has now renamed herself "The Dark Knightress", deleted her own story "Cruise Control" due to personal/religious reasons. This was not fanfiction.net's problem, this was simply the author suddenly deciding without warning, to destroy a beautiful story. I have mixed feelings about this regarding her reasoning but in the end, the damage was done and there's nothing I can do to change it. I've asked her nicely if I can perhaps have a copy for myself and have yet to receive a response... I have little hope and wish that people would stop using the pressures of their beliefs as reason to stifle their creativity. There's no sin in following one's heart. If she was moved to write a story, she should have persevered and completed it.
it's a shame really. I hope she will allow you to have a copy of it........I really hope that she'll come to understand that it's alright to be creative.
I wonder what 'religious' beliefs would all of a sudden make someone stop writing a story?
