Duncan/Anubis loves Paige!!! So he licks her on the cheek because it's adorable ...and yes, I drew him wearing a utili-kilt. It's sexy! Leave me alone! *lol*
This piece is related to an older drawing I did of Freakazoid introducing Paige to Duncan
, a piece which was done loooong before I ever came up with the idea of Duncan being fused with Anubis, but this picture doesn't really have much to do with the Anubis thing at the moment anyway. This is just a scene I imagine where Duncan has managed to suppress the subtle transformations he typically undergoes as Anubis (example: sharp canines, white eyes, pointy ears, claws, etc), so he looks normal and is pretty relieved because he's insecure about the fact that he could scare away prospective relationships with his appearance.
Paige is also a mutant, her code name is Spitfire and one of her talents is to literally spit fire/explosive projectile energy from her mouth. Fire is her main element and even though I didn't color it in this image, I intend to add orange/red highlights to Paige's raven hair. In Paige's youth, to make money, she was a street performer who 'ate fire', earning money for her natural gift to get by... I'm rambling... anyway, Duncan and Paige quickly hit it off and become a couple and it isn't long before Paige discovers that Duncan is possessed by Anubis, who is a completely separate entity sharing Duncan's body and she accepts them both completely...

This is really old and my revision of Anubis makes him a lot taller at 6'11" (not including the additional height of his ears) than Paige, who is a mere 5'5-1/4" tall.
